Kids tickets are half-price. Plus, Amtrak provides free activities.

Trains deliver passengers directly to Ashland-Hanover Visitors Center - in the heart of the festivities!

Three Park & Ride locations will be open with continuous service to downtown Ashland starting at 11 AM (final shuttle departs at 3:45 PM):

  • Green Line (East)
    📍Ashland-Junction Shopping Center (167 Junction Dr)
    ADA-accessible with drop-off at Myrtle Street
    → Grab a bite at Around the Table or La Catrina Tortilleria before boarding!

  • Purple Line (East)
    📍Ashland Hanover Shopping Center (205 N Washington Hwy)
    Drop-off at Myrtle Street
    → Recharge with a Heated Zero-G Massage Chair in XtraSuite Salon Studios, or explore detailed model railroads.

  • Red Line (West)
    📍First Baptist Church Ashland
    Drop-off at Myrtle Street
    → Restroom access, bottled water, and changing tables make this stop a family favorite.

  • Handicap parking at Henry Clay Elementary School
    📍310 South James Street Ashland, VA 23005

Closed Roads:

  • 8 AM - 4 PM

    • Both sides of the 100 block of North Railroad Avenue

    • The 100, 200 and 300 blocks South Center Street and Railroad Avenue on both sides of tracks from Route 54 to Myrtle Street

    • The 100 block of Hanover Avenue.

    • Robinson Street between South Railroad Avenue and Maple Street

    • Lee Street between South Railroad Avenue and the driveway of the Ashland Branch library closest to Virginia Street

  • 10 AM - 4 PM

    • England Street - Thompson Street

Every gearhead will enjoy displays of antique cars, heavy equipment, a fire truck and ambulance, dump trucks, and tractors!

Hosted by RCI Builders, trucks and heavy equipment will be on display on England Street:

Model A Ford cars will be displayed on S. Railroad Avenue.

Tiny Tim’s Trains & Toys issues a challenge to all Ashland Train Day participants: Play the free Scavenger Hunt to win a prize! Find the card on the back of Ashland Train Day maps printed by Minuteman Press of Ashland, explore the event to take pictures at each location, and pick up a prize at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center.
