MID-ATLANTIC RAILROAD PARK

Downtown Ashland, Virginia’s historic district is bisected by one of America’s busiest rail lines. Our community’s story is intertwined with advancing railroads and rail workers, so we developed the Mid-Atlantic Railroad Park to share with visitors.

The interactive walking tour will feature nine exhibits open daily and free to the public, with an accompanying website and mobile app.

Highlights include the 1923 train station, restored 1926 C&O caboose, America’s longest train mural, major railroad inventions, and more than 40 modern trains per day rumbling right through the heart of town.
